Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 2006
This past weekend, September 16th, 2006, we participated in the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Sharon’s parents and siblings were also present at the event.
I was gung ho about competing in the five kilometer race and was sure I could win the whole shabang; however, Sharon’s family elected to participate in the one mile walk. JUST KIDDING! It was actually a blessing that we chose the one mile walk, because the twins had to be carried the entire way. Evelyn Thomas and Debbie Tibbs, Sharon’s mother and my aunt respectively, are both breast cancer survivors. It is for this reason that we feel the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is extremely important. The Race for the Cure has become a Thomas family tradition, and we encourage those who have never participated in the race to do so next year.
