Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 2006

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

This past weekend, September 16th, 2006, we participated in the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Sharon’s parents and siblings were also present at the event.

I was gung ho about competing in the five kilometer race and was sure I could win the whole shabang; however, Sharon’s family elected to participate in the one mile walk. JUST KIDDING! It was actually a blessing that we chose the one mile walk, because the twins had to be carried the entire way. Evelyn Thomas and Debbie Tibbs, Sharon’s mother and my aunt respectively, are both breast cancer survivors. It is for this reason that we feel the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is extremely important. The Race for the Cure has become a Thomas family tradition, and we encourage those who have never participated in the race to do so next year. Michael, Alayna, and Ariel September 2006

My 30th birthday has come and gone, and I am just now getting around to uploading pictures of the universally important event to our Flickr Site. I would like to thank my friends and family for coming to our house for the event and contributing food and drinks. Although I am a little old to have a birthday party, It was a perfect excuse for a much needed family reunion. It was also a perfect excuse to get Aunt Darlene and Uncle Lester to bring their famous potato salad. I received many gifts from my family for which I am very grateful although a little embarrassed to be thirty years old and still receiving birthday presents.

Alayna and Ariel Morrow August 2006

As promised, I have uploaded all of the pictures that Sharon and I took in August to our Flickr site. Our twin girls Alayna and Ariel appear in all of the pictures; because I am assuming that most of the visitors of this site are not dying to see pictures of a tall, overweight, nearly thirty year old man. Of course I don’t blame our site’s visitors for not wanting to view pictures of me.
